Panama City Beach, FL---The Rutherford Rams were able to avoid the district semifinal pitfall that got them last year. This year, the Rutherford offense and pitcher Nick Nelson making sure they would make the state playoffs with a 10-0 win in 6 innings at Gavlak Tuesday night.
The Rams put up 2 in the first and then 3 more in the bottom of the 4th. Those runs coming on a Dondrayas Harris single, an error and a sacrifice fly by Nick Nelson.
Rutherford would ice the game with 4 more in the bottom of the 6th, Dondrell Harris would a 2 rbi single in that rally.
Nelson meanwhile in control on the hill for the Rams. Did run into a bases loaded jam in the top of the 4th but got out of that with a inning ending strikeout of Ray Peed. Nelson would go the distance getting the 6 inning shutout.
The win takes the Rams overall record to 19-6 and it moves them into the 5A District 1 title game Thursday night against Gulf Breeze, which upset second seed West Florida 8-4 Tuesday. That title game set for 7 at Gavlak.

Rams up 2-0, the Marlins though with the bases full in the top of the 4th, but Nick Nelson works out of the jam by striking out Ray Peed.
Bottom of the 4th the Rams add to their lead, Dondrayas Harris with the sharp single up the middle, that plates Kendall Herron to make it 3-0.
Two hitters later, Dallas Davis bounces to third, potential inning ending double play, but the error allows Harris to score. A sac fly would later make it 5-0.
Davis settles down after the rocky 4th, here he ends the 5th by getting Ulloa looking.
Bottom of the 6th the Rams put it away, Dondrell a two rbi single up the middle. Two more score when Peffers can't handle the one hopper off the bat of Zack Davis. The Rams roll to a 10-0 win in six.
