Springfield, FL---The Rutherford Rams are now alone atop the 5A District 1 boy's basketball standings. The Rams beating rival Bay Friday night 73-46.
The game did not begin like it might turn into a blowout. Bay in fact built an early 3 point first quarter lead. The game was a one possession game early into the second quarter in fact.
The Rams though finished the half with a 26-7 run, taking a 41-22 lead into the intermission. They continued to pour it on in the second half, winning the game by the 27 point margin.
Khaliel Spearman led all scorers with 24, as the Rams move to 14-2, 6-0 in district play. Bay falls to 13-4, 5-1. These two will meet again at Bay on the 24th.

Bay with an early spurt, #32 is Rayshaun Patterson, he drives the baseline and scores.
Then off the defensive rebound, Bay in transition, ahead to Markeis Goodman who dribbles past the defender and lays it in.
Rams answer with a bucket on transition, the miss pushed out to Josh Wade, who takes it all the way in, takes the foul and scores.
Then off the miss, it's Khaliel Spearman with the rebound and the pretty left handed scoop for two more.
Back to the Bay side Jaylon Wilson from the halfcourt, driving and scoring, it's a 16-15 Bay lead early second.
Rams really begin to fire after that, first on the break, Spearman scores again. Then it's CJ Turner with the drive and another bucket...followed by 3 more from Khaliel. Rutherford finishes the half on a 25-7 run, led it 41-22.
