Rams Beat Rickards in Low Scoring Affair

Springfield, FL---Sometimes it's just a matter of surviving and moving on. That's probably the feeling the Rutherford Rams are feeling in the wake of their second round playoff win Tuesday night at the Spiva Rams House.

The Rams beat visiting Rickards 39-35 in a game that was anything but prolific in terms of scoring, but again, a win is a win, especially at this time of the season.

The win takes the Rams record to 25-2 and sends them into the 5A region finals, a game they will host Saturday night against Bishop Kenny out of the Jacksonville area.

The attached video shows the following:

-The Raiders getting some good outside shooting early on, #11 is Maurice Howard, he hits from the top of the key for three here, then off the inbounds, he hits for three more.

-The Rams counter by attacking the lane, first the drive and feed to Dorian Moore who backs off and scores.

-Then it's Gabe Steele picking it off and taking it in for two more.

-Short time later it's Khaliel Spearman driving for two more and Rutherford's up 20-13 nearing the half.

-The Raiders though end the half on a 10-0 run, first Raynard Wade with the baseline jumper, then Howard feeds Bailey, it was 23-20 Rickards at the break.

-Rams then manage just 19 second half points, but it's enough to get a 39-35 win, so they advance to the region semi's, they'll host Jacksonville's Bishop Kenny Saturday night.
