Springfield, FL---Wednesday was college football's so called National Signing Day, and several local prep football players taking part in that. A Rutherford Ram among those signing a Letter of Intent.
That being Rams quarterback Dallas Davis, the first quarterback in Bay County history to pass for more than two thousand yards, and rush for over a thousand, in a single season. Davis signed with the University of South Alabama.
He spoke to us about his decision shortly after signing.
"South Alabama, they've got a very good program. They've only been playing football for five years, and they're already upcoming. I love the coaching staff and I love the people around them. It felt like home whenever I took my visit up there."
Davis heading into his senior season of baseball with a very good Rutherford squad. He says he'll focus on baseball during practice and games, while also spending a lot of time away from the diamond working to stay in good "football" shape.
