Springfield, FL---It is a huge week ahead for several area teams, both boy's and girl's.

On the boy's side of things, we're looking ahead to ten area teams looking ahead to their respective region semifinals. For the teams in the larger classes, like the Rutherford Rams, that's a second round state playoff game.

Coach Rhondie Ross and his guys taking care of Wakulla in their first round game last Thursday by a final of 68-51. The Rams waking up after sleepwalking through the first quarter of that one.

In fact the Rams putting up just 10 first quarter points, plagued by turnovers, traveling calls and poor shooting. Coach Ross says all that a facet of nerves!

"I think some guys, this is their first time having that type of role. You know we've had Kiki, Jai, Jon Wade, some of those guys in the past, who had more of a leadership role. And this is the first time some of those guys have been in a leadership role, and I thought they were a little nervous and tight early on."

Those nerves faded, and again, the Rams won by 17. It's reasonable to think they'll get a better start Tuesday night. . That game against Rickards set for 7, coach Ross hoping the local fans show up in big numbers.
