Rams Look Ahead to Title Game vs. Gulf Breeze

Springfield, FL----Thursday is going to be a very big night indeed for several area high school baseball teams as they go after district championships.

The Rutherford Rams are among those area teams. Coach Jon Hudson's squad taking care of business against Arnold in the 5-A 1 semi's Tuesday night with a 10-0 win. That puts them into Thursday's district final against Gulf Breeze, which knocked off West Florida 8-4 Tuesday.

The Rams won their two previous games with Gulf Breeze this season, 13-1 and 7-6. Wednesday coach Hudson had this to say about a third game against the Dolphins..

"Gulf Breeze has got a good ball club. The first time we played them we just jumped ahead of them and they helped us out with some walks and that score was not really indicative of the team. We played them here in a 7-6 game and it was a really good game. But I don't think we're gonna say we've beaten them twice and it's gonna be hard to win. They're out here to win a district championship and that's the next team up."

The Rams have won 8 of their last 9 by the way, so perhaps peaking at the right time. That Gulf Breeze Rutherford game at Arnold Thursday night at 7. Other title games include Mosley at Crestview, Bozeman at Liberty, Vernon at Sneads, Catholic at Marianna. Big night of play ahead Thursday.
