Springfield, FL--- To say the least the Rutherford Rams coming off a rather good business trip to Atlanta over the weekend.
Coach Ross and his Rams winning both games they played as part of the inaugural Florida-Georgia Shootout.
The Rams winning a game Friday against Luella 58-53. that's on the south side of Atlanta and followed that up with a narrow 54-53 win over Tri-Cities, another Atlanta school.
Both those teams with some size, and coach Rhondie Ross telling me he's proud of the way his guys handled those games. He says they showed a lot of poise, trailing at the half in both games, came back and rallied to win.
His aim was to take the team on the road and get it used to playing teams with a bit more size and skill than what they might see playing teams locally. As well as teams that play a different brand of basketball than teams around here.
Before the trip, the Rams a perfect 8 and oh with wins over the likes of Mosley, Arnold, Dothan, West Florida and Niceville.
Now 10-0, the Rams will now set their sights a trip to Gulf Breeze Tuesday for another district game and then they'll play at the tournament at Grand Ridge Saturday.
Next week they travel to the Kingdom of the Sun, a very prestigious tournament in Ocala.
