Springfield, FL---The Rutherford Rams are set to play in the region finals for the 4th time in five years. Only one time in that span did they make it past the region final and get to Lakeland.
Perhaps Saturday night will make it two times. The Rams host Bishop Kenny out of Jacksonville in a 5A region final game Saturday at 7.
The Rams surviving a tough second round test Tuesday, beating Rickards 39-35 in a game played at a slow, plodding-pace.
Not the kind of game the rams like to play, but Rams head coach Rhondie Ross says they're prepared to play that, or any kind of game if need be.
"You know during the season you want to schedule games against teams that play different styles. So when you get in the playoffs, some teams might be a grind it out, and you may have teams that play up-tempo. You may have some teams that are big and have good low-post presence. Or they may be small like us."
Ross says Kenney is a small, up-temp team like the Rams.
That one at 7 Saturday night. Same start time for Crestview, which hosts Oviedo in a 7A region final, that game at the Arena at Northwest Florida.
