Springfield, FL---Are we ready for some basketball, state playoff style? Certainly the Rutherford Rams are, as they get set to host a 5A region quarterfinal.
The Rams, coming off convincing wins over Gulf Breeze and Choctaw on the way to their district title, host Wakulla Thursday at 7.
The War Eagles coming in with a 12-13 record, the runner up in just a three team district, but Rhondie Ross certainly not about to take this, or any playoff team lightly.
"We didn't play them this year but we played them last year and the year before, home and away, so there's a lot of familiarity there. I know they're a very physical team, kids with a lot of good looking bodies. Excellent offensive rebounding team, we're gonna have our hands full, they're a lot bigger and stronger than we are. We're gonna have to play Rutherford Rams basketball. You know it's vital that we speed the game up and play fast because that's to our advantage. If we play a slow it down and grind it up pace we can get beat up pretty bad because they're so much bigger and stronger."
The Rams making a 5th straight playoff appearance, and 7th in the last 8 years. Tipoff at 7, highlights in our late news after the Olympics.
