Springfield, FL---There are plenty of big district games on the schedule for Friday night, including a rather huge 5-A one and
intra-county showdown between Rutherford and Arnold.

That contest is our Southern Orthopedic Specialists Game of the Week. Let's focus on the Rams here.

First year coach Alvin Dempsey and his guys just 1-4 so far, the lone win a couple of weeks ago over Suwannee.

Three of those losses to 6-A schools, Milton Escambia and Fort Walton Beach. So Dempsey says he and his players aren't too concerned with the overall record.

"Well they know we still have some life. Our season is not over. The district is just starting for us, this will be our first district game. And they know we've got a chance, so once again the morale is high. They understand what we've been going through, why we play the big games. Why we played the 6A teams at the beginning of the season, not to be a tackling dummy but a measurement of where we need to be during district season. Right now it's our first district game, we're starting fresh, the second half of our season, zero and zero and we're just punching at it right now."

The Marlins also 1-4, with two losses to 6A teams Pace and Mosley but also a district loss to Gulf Breeze. So more of a sense of urgency for that camp.
