Rams Shut Out Visiting Bulldogs Tuesday

Springfield, FL---The Rutherford Rams are now 13-3 on the season thanks to a Tuesday night run-rule win over visiting Marianna, the Rams winning 14-0 in five.

The Rams scored four times in the bottom of the first to establish the early lead. Nick Nelson driving in the game's first run with an rbi single to left. Dallas Davis drove in another with a sacrifice fly to center. A third run scored in the inning on another single to left by Jeremy Leno and a fielder's choice pushed across the 4th Rutherford run.

The Rams would score 3 more times in the bottom of the third inning, AJ Thornton driving in the first of those runs with a bunt single. The second run in that rally came home on a throwing error on a stolen base attempt, and the third run of that frame came home on T-R Reese's single to left.

All that plenty for Rutherford starter Tyler Broxton who came up with strikeouts to get out of early trouble in the first and second innings.

The Rams are back on the home field Wednesday against a Revis team out of Illinois.
