Springfield, FL--The Rutherford Rams are playing on in the state playoffs, thanks to a 4th win this season over district rival Gulf Breeze in their 5A region semifinal Tuesday night, 65-35 the final.
The Rams began the game with a smothering defense and hitting just enough shots to start the game with a ten-oh run. In fact the Dolphins fail to score any points at all in the first quarter and that's how the first 8 minutes ended.
Gulf Breeze unable to score any points in fact until just before the 3 minute mark of the second quarter, and by then, Rutherford led it 23-2. The Rams went on to own a 28-6 halftime lead. They go on to win the game by 30, 65-35.
So the Rams move into the region finals, and another home game Saturday night against Jacksonville Parker. It's the third straight season Rutherford's made it to the state region finals.
