Orlando, FL--It's looking more and more like Bert Reed is going to be able to play in what will be his final game at Florida State. Reed's now worked in five straight bowl game practices, the last two in Orlando, and it looks like he will indeed suit up and play Thursday against the Irish in the Champs Sports Bowl. A few weeks ago Bert suffered a "bad" hamstring injury, Jimbo Fisher said at the time he thought Reed was "probably done."
Thanks though to platelet rich plasma treatments, which takes platelet rich blood from one part of the body and injects it to the injured part of the body, Bert says he now feels "way closer to being game ready." He admits he still can feel the hammy a bit while running. “It’s just, sometimes I run a route and I realize I’m hurting a little bit. As far as how it felt and how I expected it to feel, I feel way better. The trainers did a good job … It really got me back to where I needed to be. It got me ahead of schedule.
Fisher hesitant to say Reed will start Thursday, but felt somewhat optimistic it might happen.
