Rob Armstrong Introduced As New Rutherford Coach Friday

Springfield, FL----It's was a somewhat rare occurrence taking place at Rutherford here during spring ball.

Rutherford Thursday naming it's new head football coach here in the middle of spring. Friday Rams A.D. Kirk Harrell officially introducing that new coach, Rob Armstrong.

Coach Armstrong is a Graceville native who's been a head coach at Graceville, Freeport, Marianna and Chipley. He's moving back to the Panhandle from Atlanta where he was an assistant at Clark University, a D2 school.

Coach telling us he's taken over coaching jobs in the winter and summer, but never before in the middle of spring, so that's something new for him and the kids, whom he met and spoke to Friday.

"I Just told them that I knew that they had a lot of questions and that they're worried about this and that." coach Armstrong told us after he was introduced. "And I said there's nothing that I can get up here and say to reassure you, all I can do is show you and let's start that Monday. We're all in the same boat, we're starting fresh. You guys do the same thing, you come out here and let's see what we can do on the practice field and let's finish up these last two weeks best we can and kind of get some momentum going into the summer."

Coach Armstrong says he will be at practice starting Monday.
