Roonie Scovel talks about her Lady Commodores getting two big wins heading into the Christmas break.

Panama City, FL--On the juco level where Roonie Scovel has a rather positive feeling about her Lady Commodores as they head into the Christmas break.
Her team going into the Holiday with the momentum of two big wins this past weekend, whipping Bishop State 84-28 on Friday, then a 94-59 win over Jacksonville Saturday. Those two wins especially satisfying after the team dropped two wins the previous weekend in Indians. So as they take this break, the defending state and national champs looking at an 8-3 record, and again a somewhat satisfying feeling for coach Scovel.

Roonie Scovel
Gulf Coast Head Coach
"We didn't buy into working hard in the preseason and I think that cost us a few games here, three to be exact. And we finished strong, the last two games we played like a Gulf Coast team. I had fun coaching, it felt like I was coaching a Gulf Coast team. All the other games it didn't feel that way, I felt like I was coaching something else. And not the typical Gulf Coast, up-tempo, hard work, defensive intensity. So these last two games it felt good to coach us, and I'm sure they had fun playing."

The Lady Commodores are off through Christmas, then next week host a couple of games next week, Daytona State next Wednesday, Santa Fe next Thursday.
