Springfield, FL-- We start with high school basketball and we're now down to four, just four area boy's teams still playing, still fighting for a state championship. The Rutherford Rams are one of those four. The Rams winning their second playoff game at home last night, beating a very physical Washington team 74-59, John Wade leading the way with 30 points, Kiki Williamson scoring 17, those two really coming up big after Washington had rallied to lead in the third quarter. The Rams absolutely owned the final ten minutes of the game. So now they're headed to Palatka, and the 4A region finals Saturday night. A win there puts Rutherford back in the state semifinals in Lakeland for a second consecutive season.

Rhondie Ross
Rutherford Head Coach

"We are right where we want to be. you know this is one of our short term goals. Of course the long term is to get to Lakeland and win it. It was great turnout, we were pleased with that and I was pleased with how hard the kids fought."

The Rams now 24-3, Palatka is 25-3, so obviously two talented teams going at it in that one.
