Springfield, FL-- We start with high school baseball, our area with 6 teams still working out today, still hoping to play their way to a state title. The Rutherford Rams are one of those 6, they went to Choctaw. last night and came up with an 8-1 win, Dakota Spikes a complete game on the mound, Jesse Pace a 3 run bomb. That puts Rutherford into the 4-A region semifinals against their district rival Wakulla, whom the Rams beat twice in the regular season, but then last week lost to the War Eagles in the district title game.

Jon Hudson
Rutherford Head Coach

"I think the distirct cha game might have taught us a bit of a lesson. I think we may have entitled to some things, we rolled through the district pretty easy in the regular season and we found out just get something based on what you did during the year, you have to go get it. And I think that gave us a little wakeup call we gotta go out and play baseball."

That Rutherford game at Wakulla Friday. Other area winners last night, Marianna, Freeport, St. Joe, Crestview and Bozeman, those latter two hosting their games Friday night.
