Springfield, FL--We start on the high school hardwood as 8 area teams hit the floor Tuesday hoping to take the second of five necessary steps towards a state title in their respective classes. This round what they call the region semifinals, 23-3 Rutherford among those hosting, the Rams hosting Washington. Just like in their first round game the Rams jump out to a big lead, first it's Wade driving, kick out to Raibon who then gives to Kiki Williamson who scores.
Then it's Wade working the baseline, check out the footwork, I checked, he didn't travel. Then it's Kiki driving and missing but Chance Brookins there to put it back, and one, Rams up 15-4 early, they led it 28-24 at the break. Third quarter, Wildcats would actually tie it, and seemed on the verge of taking control, but the Rams
rally big time, first Williamson drives and scores, then off the miss, Brookins again with the nice putback. Then it was Wade time, two possessions back to back with nice looking jumpers. The Rams on the way to a 74-59 win, Wade with 30, Williamson 17, Rutherford will head to Palatka Saturday for their second straight year in the 4-A region final.
