Seminoles Prepare for Thursday Night Game in Blacksburg

Tallahassee, FL-- Florida State's getting set to return to the playing field. That happens Thursday night when Jimbo Fisher takes his team, which is coming off a restful bye week, up to Blacksburg to take on a Virginia Tech.

It's safe to call the Hokies one of the bigger disappointments of this college football season. Ranked 16th in the AP preseason poll, Virginia Tech's struggled big time, just 4-5 overall, 2-3 in the ACC. That third conference loss coming last Thursday night at Miami.

Jimbo knows Tech will be "up" for the Seminoles, since they have nothing to lose, and much to gain by knocking off a top ten team in a prime time nationally televised game.

"We're gonna get everybody's best show anyway." Fisher says. "That's what we play against every week anyway. Teams mark us on their schedule, mark us on their calender, we know that. They're 4-5, they want a winning record, go to a bowl game This is a signifcant game, but I think everybody looks at us that way, they look at us, target that. And I think that's something you have to face and have to be able to prepare for every week."

FSU now 8th in the AP, 10th in the BCS rankings. That game Thursday night set for 7:30 eastern, Seminoles favored by 14.
