Ponder and FSU cruised Saturday.
Are the Florida State Seminoles for real? Are they serious contenders for the ACC championship this season. Well the jury's still out on that, but we may in fact get rather close to a verdict come Saturday when Ponder and company head south to take on the Hurricanes.
Florida State's looked rather convincing in the two wins since the disaster at Oklahoma, big wins at home over Wake, then Saturday a 20 point win at Virginia. And so it's a confident bunch now prepping for the rivalry game against Miami.
"It was huge for us, especially to take that step forward. Coach Fisher talked about it all last week about we had our first home win against an ACC team the crucial step was going out on the road and doing it. Especially after Oklahoma, we weren't sure how we would respond in an away game and we responded really well. I think it gives a lot of the young guys confidence, it gives a lot of the old guys confidence that we can do it."
Florida State at 4-1, back in the AP top 25 at number 23, the 'canes at 3-1 up to number 13 following a road win at Clemson. Kickoff in Miami Saturday set for 8 eastern, FSU 6 point underdogs in that one.
