Tallahassee, FL--Starting today the Florida State baseball team has it's 21st trip to the College World Series under way.
Mike Martin and company heading to Omaha for yet another crack at a championship, which would be the first in the program's history.
Certainly there has to be some pressure on Martin and his guys. The coach has made 14 previous trips to Omaha without a title, and the Seminoles own the record for most trips overall without winning it all at 20.
The good thing heading west for FSU, several players on this year's team were there a couple of years ago, so there is some experience to lead the way.
"Well I'm sure that Ramsey and Devon and Jace will calm everybody down once they get there" says coach Martin "because there's so much going on. There's this event and that event and practice and then a meal, and curfew, and then the next day you're ready to play baseball. So I mean there's everything packed into a couple of days and boom, you're playing baseball."
Florida State opens bracket play Friday night at 8 central against Arizona. The Gators open Saturday night against South Carolina in a rematch of last year's final series.
