Hoover, AL---Are the South Carolina Gamecocks ready to take it to that last, highest level? Steve Spurrier, speaking Tuesday at the SEC Media Days, says he hopes they are, but isn't making any guarantees.
South Carolina's head coach talking about setting and meeting goals in Columbia in recent years, including during last year's 11-2 season. He adds though, there are still some mountains to climb.
"The last several years we've managed everything except win the division and win the SEC." Spurrier said. "Fortunate enough to win our bowl games, finish in the top ten. Actually we were number four last year, best in school history. So we hope to do a lot better. We have again a team that's capable. But we've got to go play the game. We have a team that's not a whole lot better than most people, or anybody really. But we can play with just about anybody we play."
Spurrier and his Gamecocks open up the season with a Thursday night game, August 28th at home against Texas A&M.
