Panama City, FL--Signing day is set for Wednesday, and there are a few area student athletes expecting to sign with FBS, or what we used to call Division One football programs.
One of them is Walton defensive lineman Dalvon Stuckey. He's an FSU commitment and says he still intends to sign a letter of intent Wednesday with Florida State. There is a catch. Stuckey must wait out his academics and some test scores. If those don't come in high enough, it's likely Stuckey will then sign with Pearl River Junior College in Mississippi.
Another area talent who will not sign tomorrow and is likely headed to junior college football is Wewahitchka's Theryl Brown. The running back who won the State's Mr. Football title on the 1A level, still has some academic work ahead of him before he can play college ball on the FBS level.
There will be some signings on the FBS level in our area Wednesday on signing day, when high school athletes can make their verbal commitments more binding. That includes a pair from Arnold, Eddie Williams, who's expected to put his name on a letter of intent with Alabama.
And his teammate Andre Allen, who is expected to sign with Troy, which is not the program he originally committed to, that was Ole Miss.
Another FBS signee expected at Fort Walton Beach, Shoobie Timms expected to sign with Minnesota tomorrow.
A pair of Freeport players and one from Chipley will sign with Tusculum College, a Division Two school in Tennessee. We'll be all over the area for you Wednesday and have all these signings with reaction for you at 6 and ten.
