Panama City, FL-- For thousands of talented high school seniors, Wednesday is a rather significant day. It's signing day, when prep football players can sign binding letters of intent, or scholarship offers with colleges. For our area, a less than busy signing day, but a few schools did see some seniors sign. Let's begin with the first of those, over at Bay. TJ Lowder putting his name to a scholarship offer with Florida International, so he'll play for Mario Cristobal and a team that will be defending Sun Belt Champs. TJ an all purpose athlete who ran it out of the backfield, caught it from the receiver spot, played in the secondary, he'll likely stay on the offensive side of the line for the Golden Panthers.
Actually they're gonna use me as a slot receiver. It's gonna be fun because they just came off the win and I know they want more. They're expecting big things out of that program and I'm ready to be a part of that program."
Bay Head Coach
"I see him being a very versatile player for them. I know they run a lot of spread stuff and we used him in the slot with motion and ran the ball ocassionally. Real versatile you know he broke the school record as a junior and re-broke it as a senior so he's probably the all time leading receiver here at Bay High, so real happy for him and wish him the best."
TJ with 97 catches, over a thouand td's the last two years. Lowder's already enrolled and started school at F-I-U so he will participate in Spring drills.
