Team Florida comes up short in NYBC Semi-Final Game

MEMPHIS, TENN- Team Florida, the 12U baseball team out of Lynn Haven has had a big summer of baseball. They capped it off with a trip to the National Youth Baseball Championships in Memphis Tennessee.

Team Florida was representing USSSA baseball and played their semi-final game against the only team to beat them in the tournament, the Banditos Black out of Texas, who plays for the Super Series organization.

Things not going well early for Team Florida, as the Banditos Matt Mitchell gets a hold of a pitch and sends it out over the left field wall, for the early 2-0 lead.

The Banditos jumped out to a 7-0 lead, but Team Florida started to battle back in the 4th with a Jordan Murray two run homer over the scoreboard in right, to make it a 7-2 game.

Banditos put up two more runs before Florida got back on the board. Michael Cullen hit a 2 rbi single int he 5th, and then they added one more run on a pass ball in the inning.

But Team Florida couldn't can't get any closer in the 6th and final inning.Team Florida ends up on the losing end of a 9-5 score. With the loss they are eliminated from the 8 team tournament with a record of 2-2. Despite the loss still a great run for the team.
