The Chipola baseball squad heads to Lakeland and the State Tournament which begins Saturday.

Marianna, FL--To juco ball, two area teams now in Central Florida tonight looking towards the start of the State Tournament in Lakeland Saturday. Coach Johnson and his Indians, at 16-8 the co-champs of the Conference, loading up the bus earlier today for the trip to state, a 7th consecutive such trip for Chipoa.

"Scott we're ready to get down there, it's been a long season, you know we haven't played our best baseball this year. I'm excited about the way the guys the last couple weeks, we've had good practices going in this week. We're excited to get down there Saturday morning, get this thing started and see what we can do."

Indians open Saturday with a ten eastern time game against Lake Sumter.
