The Florida Gators again fail to put their baseball on the field and fall in game two of the World Series to South Carolina.

Omaha, NE--Call it the proverbial "backs against the wall" scenario for the Florida Gator baseball team. Thanks to the Gators being unable, despite many very good chances, to put away South Carolina in game one of their best of three final series last night, well Florida took the field tonight facing the end. A Gamecocks win in this one would mean back to back titles for U-S-C. Chipley alum Karsten Whitson getting the start Tuesday for the Gators, pitched very well into the third, but a couple of walks and this error by his shortstop Nolan Fontana hurt big time. That plating Carolina's second run.
Then it's Thomas bouncing one over the mound, it would go as an infield hit, making it 3-0.
The Gators meanwhile with plenty of chances but the only early rbi comes on Zunino's solo homer in the 4th, they've chased ace Michael Roth with a run in the 8th but the Gamecocks hold on to win it 5-2, they are repeat baseball national champs!
