The Freeport Bulldogs are now the area's lone prep baseball team still fighting for a state championship!

Freeport, FL--- There now remains just one team in our area still working this week, still dreaming of a high school state baseball championship. That team is Freeport. The Bulldogs the lone area team out of 6 playing last Friday night to win it's region semifinal game. The Dogs rallying from behind to beat Bozeman 8-4. A few nights earlier they had beaten Vernon to open the playoffs, which marks the first time in school history it's won two games in the state playoffs. Those two wins combined with the three wins in the district tourney, giving coach Shawn Arntz's team five straight wins here in the postseason. Freeport needs three more to win the 2-A Championshp. The next test comes at home Friday night against North Florida Christian which last Friday knocked St. Joe out of the playoffs with a 20-3 win in Tallahassee. We'll visit the Bulldogs practice later this week and let you hear from the coach and some of the players as they continue to work to make history for this school and it's baseball program.
