The Raiders baseball team heads to Lakeland in preparation for the Juco State Tournament which begins Saturday.

Niceville, FL--The Raiders of Northwest Florida State packing up the bus Thursday and heading to Lakeland. The Raiders the co-champs of the Panhandle, making their first trip to state since oh-1 and the first under third year head coach Doug Martin.
As they rode the bus south I spoke with Martin about his team's opener Saturday against Santa Fe, the top ranked team in the state, and the nation.

Doug Martin
NWF State Head Coach
"When you have those kind of settings where you play only once and maybe the only time you play 'em I think it's more important that you take a look at what you do and how you play, as opposed to what, too much about what your opponent does. We know they're good, we know they're talented but we also know if we play the way we're capable of playing we can play with anybody so we'll look foward to that."

Martin says he'll start 8-0 Ryan Crowley in the opener then go with another lefty Matt Lane Sunday. That first game Saturday at four.
