Springfield, FL-- The road trips are on! Four area teams are getting set for their resepective region finals, each of them one game away from a trip to Lakeland the their classes' state semifinals.
For Rutherford that means a road trip east, over to Palatka. A win there means a return trip to the 4A state semi's, they lost in that round last year in Lakeland. They're working hard to take it a couple of steps further this year. So far two steps behind them, home wins over Pensacola and Washington. Next up it's a trip east for their region final Saturday night. This their first road game of the playoffs, but remember they did win three road playoff games last year!

Rhondie Ross
Rutherford Head Coach

"Yeah I think it's gonna pay dividends. Last year I think we went into the situation really not knowing what to expect and we were playing with house money. And I feel like, you know you're playing with house money when you go on the road anyway. I'm quite sure it's gonna be pretty raucous over there, standing room only, I'm quite sure. They're gym is not quite as big as ours, so it's gonna be a hostile environment, but fortunately for us our guys have been in those situations before so we know what to expect."

The Rams bussing it east Friday, that game Saturday night set for 7 eastern, we expect to have highlights for you in our late news.
