Springfield, FL-- Let's take it inside the gym., the Rutherford boy's basketball team hosting a district affair against Wakulla. Rams won their first meeting, could they make it a sweep of the War Eagles? Pick it up first quarter action and the Rams get it to big man, Jai Jenks and he makes the strong post move to the basket and lays it in for 2. Later it's John Wade getting it in the post and he puts up the layup and gets the foul...he would make the free throw. Rams with the early 4 point lead. Few plays later it's Tony Mixon missing the three but Wade is there to clean up the glass and hit the 2. Rutherford would build the lead to as much as 12 in the first half, then has to hold off a good second half Wakulla rally, Rams hold on to win though 63-57. Wade led with 27, Rams 16-2, 3-0 in district. If the Rams win at Godby next Friday, they'll nail down the top seed in that three team district tourney, and guarantee themselves a state playoff berth.
