Panama City Beach, FL--To the boats now, some 72 strong heading out Thursday afternoon, as part of the fleet for the 27th Bay Point Invitational and 40/40 Shootout presented by Hart's Marine. The majority of boats in the big tournament, they're fishing for Blue Marlin, Swordfish, Tuna, Wahoo and Dolphin. The 40-40 teams, who will weigh in just tomorrow night, fishing for the same species with the exception of big blue. All totalled with tournament and optional entry money wagered, these boats will be fishing for a prize purse of more than 870 thousand dollars.
Again there's a one million dollar bonus for any team fishing in Florida waters, that brings in a new state record swordfish, which would have to be a smidge over 615 pounds.
The weigh in's tomorrow and Saturday 6 to 10 p.m., and wjhg.com will be streaming those live.
