The folks running the Bay Point Invitational have added swordfish to the weigh-ins, and are giving anglers more than a million reasons to go after that species!

Panama City Beach, FL-- Next week the 27th Bay Point Invitational takes place at the Bay Point Marina. The fleet will be fishing for Blue, Tuna, Wahoo and Dolphin, and for the first time in this event, Swordfish. The anglers have more than a million reasons why to chase that species.

Scott Burt
Bay Point Tournament Dir.

"We're thrilled to be able to announce that we've got a million dollar prize, on the team, in either tournament, it's not restricted to the Invitational, the 40/40 contenders as well, a million dollar payout to the team that breaks the Florida state broadbill swordfish record of 612 pounds. It's an enormous prize, we're thrilled to bring it to the table, we look forward to somebody weighing that monster swordfish and by the way, that fish is out there."

You may remember last September we saw some swordfish weighed in the Sportfish Classic. Currently a total of 59 boats signed up for the Invitational and the 40/40. The weigh ins are next Friday and Saturday nights from 6 to 10 pm. For more information on the event, click on baypointbillfish.com.
