New York, NY---On to the NFL Draft and for the second night in a row, the Panhandle is represented in the Big Apple as part of that draft.
Thursday night we saw Port St. Joe alum Calvin Pryor taken in the first round, going to the New York Jets 18th overall.
Friday night it's Bay alum Khyri Thornton going in the third round to the Green Bay Packers, the 21st pick in the third round, 85th pick overall.
Thornton, who after Bay played his college ball at Southern Miss is a 6 foot, two inch 300 pound defensive tackle.
You may have seen the feature we did with him several weeks ago as we caught up with him preparing in Gulf Breeze for the NFL combine.
He told us at that time he was excited about going to any NFL franchise, he simply wanted the chance to prove he belonged with the best. Well now he has that shot, congrats to Khyri, we'll be hearing from him soon enough.
