Tigers Beat Cottondale, Advance to 1A Title Game

Cottondale, FL---The Blountstown Tigers are heading to Orlando for the 1A State Championship game next week. Coach Jordan and his Tigers continuing their domination of the Panhandle by beating Cottondale 42-0 Friday at Cottondale.

Blountstown scored first on a 3 play drive on it's first possession, a long run by Corin Peterson and a two yard score by Hunter Jordan getting that done.

After a short punt by the Hornets, Tigers working with the short field, punch it in quickly Alex Mayorga for a 9 yard touchdown run made it 14-0.

After the Tigers defense held again the offense moves it down the field in short order, this time Jordan scores from 10 yards out and Blountstown led 21-0.

After an interception ended a good Cottondale drive Alex Mayorga rattled off a a 60 yard run into hornets territory.. And that led to Jordan connecting for 16 yards with Shontavious Peterson, 28-0 Blountstown.

A Corin Peterson pick 6 from 12 yards out caps the first half scoring
making it 35-0, the Tigers on their way to a 42-0 state semifinal win.

They head to the 1A Championship game Friday December 6th against Trenton in Orlando. Congrats to coach Jordan and the Tigers.
