Tigers Dealing with Change of Routine for Second Round Game

Blountstown, FL---There remain just three area teams still standing as we head into round two state playoff games.

One of those three, the Blountstown Tigers who came up with a huge defensive effort at Holmes Friday night, and getting just enough offense for the 10-win.

So the Tigers advancing to the 1A region finals at Liberty this week, and that means practicing through a holiday week without any school. Head coach Greg Jordan says his kids noticed a different routine Monday morning.

"You know this morning, our Monday morning practice at 9, instead of those guys going in second period class, and some of them acting like they were not with it first thing this morning when we got started. But once they get out there and get in the routine and forget about what time it is, and everything except football, which is what we're supposed to be working on, then they adjusted pretty quickly to that. You know you're football team has to mature during this time of year and move on with these changes and they've done a good job of that for us."

This Friday's game a rematch with district 4 rival Liberty, the Bulldogs, who knocked off Bozeman in round one, won the previous meeting with Blountstown 20-7 back in October. We'll hear from Liberty coach Grant Grantham Tuesday night.
