Tigers Get District Win over Holmes Monday

Chipley, FL---Call it a prep basketball game that was big on several fronts. The Chipley Tigers hosting Holmes Monday night, these two old time rivals, also district rivals this year ini 1A-2.

Monday it's Chipley walking away with a 12 point win 82-70. Tyrome Sharpe leading the Tigers with 26, Trent Forest chipping in with 25.

Chris Walker leading all scorers on the night with 35, he also hauled in 19 rebounds.

The Tigers are now 17-2, 8-0 in district play. Holmes falls to 10-6, 6-1.These two will go at it again in Bonifay on the 24th.]

Standing room only up there tonight, and the home crowd loving this start, as Trent Forest connects for three.

Holmes star Chris Walker starting slow offensively but working on the defensive end big time, swatting away shots early.

Tyrome Sharpe a bit later though able to drive through the Devils defense, gets the bucket and one.

Then it's Kobe Mcrary getting in on the act for the Tigers, takes the feed and slams it home, an 18 point Chipley lead at the half.

In the second half, Walker heats up big time, huge throwdown here, the Florida commit goes on to score 35, but it isn't enough, as the Tigers win by 12, 80-72.
