Tigers Set to Take on Marianna Friday

Blountstown, FL--It is going to be a rather interesting non district match up Friday night in the heart of Jackson county. The Blountstown Tigers head north to face the Marianna Bulldogs in
what is our Southern Orthopedic Specialists Game of the Week.

Let's focus here on those Tigers who are coming off a win over Sneads, taking their overall record to 4-1.

That game last Friday another indication of how coach Greg Jordan is looking to put more responsibility on his junior quarterback Hunter Jordan who tossed for 210 yards and 3 touchdowns against Sneads.

"This is his second year at the helm, last year as a sophomore, you know a sophomore quarterback we just kind of asked him not to lose games for us and not make the big mistake. You know this year he knows pretty much everything that's going on and we put a little bit more on his plate and ask him to go out and try to win a few games for us and make a few plays. And he's doing a good job of that."

Friday's game at 4-A Marianna likely to be the toughest test of the season so far for the class 1-A Tigers, coach Jordan says this about the Bulldogs.

"Obviously Marianna has a very good football team. They're 5-1 right now. They are probably going to be faster than anyone we have played this year. They got tremendous skill kids, a good quarterback, good running backs, their offensive line does a great job. And they're fast on defense so it's gonna be a good task for us this week."

That game in Marianna set for 7 p.m.
