Santa Rosa Beach, FL--There is a new head football coach and athletic director at South Walton High School.
Those titles now belong to PhilTisa, who was introduced to the players, parents and boosters at the school Thursday morning.
Coach Tisa has been an assistant coach with that program the last 8 years, he's also been a wrestling and softball coach at South Walton.
Before that he spent a couple of years as an assistant football coach at Niceville, so he has 10 years experience, all within the region.
Tisa, a UCF graduate, telling me Thursday afternoon he's very excited about taking over adding "coach Wiles put us on a good path and I look to continue building on that and developing a tradition at South Walton, something we don't have. We have a great group of kids here right now, we're fairly young, not many seniors, so the future looks great."
Tisa has been helping to run the summer workouts and is leading the team to Marianna this weekend for an FCA football team camp.
Phil takes over for Bill Wiles who left South Walton after just one year.
