Marianna, FL-- To say the least it is a huge week ahead for the Chipola Indians baseball program. Coach Johnson and the team continuing to work at home this week in advance of a third trip to Nationals in the last five years.

Jeff Johnson
Chipola Head Coach

"Yeah our kids are definitely excited. Unfortunately we got 18 days between our last game and our first game out in Grand Junction, so we've got to be careful not to get going too quick. We want to be playing our best and building up to it on Sunday nighw when we play that first game. So we're trying to get in some more fundamental stuff, get better fundamentally, especially our offensive execution. We weren't very good offensive execution-wise down in Lakeland. We pitched very well, played very good defense, so we've got to continue to pitch well, get a little better defensively and get our offense straightened out. If we can get all that going, all at the right time for a full week, then we'll have a chance out there."

The team heads west Thursday, will work out in Colorado for two days and then open at Nationals Sunday night against a team from Texas. Chipola with back to back trips to Nationals in oh-7 and oh-8. The Indians winning it all in that 2007 appearance.
