Tornadoes Beat Arnold, Advance to District Championship

Panama City Beach, FL----Bay is headed to the 3A-2 district championship match Friday, thanks to a 4-0 win over rival Arnold Tuesday night at Gavlak.

The Tornadoes getting a goal just three minutes into their semifinal match off a corner kick, Hunter Hall with a header to put that goal on the board.

Late in the first half Daniel Garcia-Duran would extend the lead to 2-0 and that was the score at intermission.,

In the second half Michael Layfield finds the back of the net twice to provide Bay with the final margin. The win takes Bay's overall record to 12-7-2. The Tornadoes will face Mosley in Friday's title match, the Dolphins beating Rutherford 2-0 in the other semifinal Tuesday.

The Tornadoes, in white scoring three minutes in, Bay on the board when Hunter Hall scores on the header off the corner kick.

Arnold working it to respond, but a series of shots just missing the mark, among them this free kick of Austin Peffers that just hits the crossbar and goes over.

Bay's keeper Zach Watson also doing a good job of denying other shots, like this one that starts on the corner kick, gets pushed back out and comes back on the kick by Carson Thomas Walters.

Bay gets another goal late in the half, then another early in the second to win it 4-0. Again that final against Mosley Friday night at Gavlak.
