Tornadoes Look Ahead to 2013 Season Opener

Panama City, FL--- It is officially game week for area high school football teams. All the teams in our area in fact are set to play their regular season openers come Friday night. Many coming off fall jamborees, others coming off fall kickoff classics, head to head games with one opponent.

Bay going the latter route and coming away with a 6-6 tie against defending 1A state champ Northview. That game played on the road so we don't have video from it, but head coach Jimmy Longerbeam says his offense didn't play as poorly as the score would indicate.

"You know it really wasn't bad. The score's kind of misleading. We held the ball, they actually had four plays on offense in the first quarter and they had 9, I think for the entire half. So we moved the ball up and down the field, we just didn't punch it in. So we've gotta get better at capitalizing once we get in the red zone. You know we spent a lot of time watching film yesterday and we'll watch it with the kids today and just kind of correct our mistakes. The good thing about it is they're all correctable mistakes. There's not anything that's really glaring that we can't fix."

This week the Tornadoes will prep towards an opener at home against Marianna, which lost it's classic game Friday at Wakulla 24-13.
