Panama City, FL--If the regular season is the first part of the soccer season, and the district tournaments are the second, then we're just about to head into the third part of the boy's season Tuesday.
The State playoffs begin for with several area teams taking part in Tuesday matches, or what is called the Region Quarterfinals.
Among those area teams, the Bay Tornadoes, who are currently
working towards a match at Tommy Oliver Tuesday.
Coming off the win over Pensacola Catholic in the district one title match late last week, the Tornadoes will be hosting a class 2A Region Quarterfinal match Tuesday night against Florida High, the runner up in district two.
Now 17-6-1, the team's coach, Roy Houpt believes his team is working according to plan and peaking as they head into the playoffs.
"Yes we gear everything towards the last month of the season which would be January. The early part of the season we're doing a lot of displacing players, they're playing different positions. When January rolls around we're ready to roll. And we're all in the right position now hopefully."
Bay is a senior heavy bunch, and the coach believes that too is working in their favor, especially given the experience of making it to the Region Finals last year.
That match Tuesday night against Florida set for a 7 o'clock start at Tommy Oliver Stadium. Below is a list of all the area soccer playoff matches, including one on the girl's side of things. All matches to start at 7 local time.
