USA Today Releases Pre-Season Coaches Poll With Alabama Holding the Top Spot

One of the 2 major college football polls released its pre-season rankings Thursday, and there aren't too many surprises.

The USA Today Coaches Poll has Alabama ranked number 1 going into the first week of the 2013 season. 58 of the 62 voting coaches put Bama in the top spot.

Ohio State is in the number 2 spot with 3 first place votes; Oregon, Stanford and Georgia round out the top 5.

Texas A&M is in at number 6, with 1 first place vote. The Aggies are followed by South Carolina, Clemson, Louisville and Florida.

Notre Dame comes in at 11, followed by Florida State which many believe to be a low ranking for that program. LSU, Okalahoma State and Texas are 13, 14, and 15.

The rest of the top 25 filled with the usual suspects.

It's interesting to note the SEC has a total of 6 teams in the top 25 with 5 in the top 10.

Clemson is the highest ranked ACC program at number 8 and Miami, which is picked to win the ACC's coastal division, isn't even in the top 25.
