Urban Meyer talks about why he's happy with the direction his team's headed.

Florida gearing up for SEC East showdown with South Carolina with a title game berth on the line.

Florida coach Urban Meyer said in December he was quitting over health reasons, then changed his mind a day later, instead deciding to take a leave of absence, which officially ended Wednesday.

To the Gator front now, and thanks to a total beatdown of Vandy in Nashville Saturday, Urban and his boys are gearing up for a playoff game of sorts against the 'ol ball coach and his Gamecocks.
The winner of the USC-Florida showdown in the Swamp Saturday will represent the East in the SEC title game in early December. Hard to imagine that possibility after the Gators had lost 3 straight to 'bama, LSU and Mississippi State. Now it's back to back wins and the opportunity to get to Atlanta.

Urban Meyer
Florida Head Coach

"I like where our team is right now. I'm not talking about execution-wise. I'm talking about development because you're either going one way or the other, and we're heading in the right direction. And that's coming through some adversity, coming through some injuries. If you had told me that we'd have been five or six games without Rainey and (Jeff) Demps, you'd be down to your third kicker, and some other issues we're dealing with and you get a chance to play in the best stadium in America in front of the best fans for a shot at the SEC championship, we'd take it."

Meyer says we should expect to see more of the 3-qb system with Brantley sharing snaps with Burton and Jordan Reed in that USC game.
