Bonifay, FL--Holmes hoopster Chris Walker has made his decision, at least for now. The senior to be verbally committing Sunday morning to the University of Florida.
Walker's a physical specimen to be sure, 6-10 with great agility. He certainly sticks out on the 1-A level, but he's stacked up nicely against much bigger competition playing summer ball for AAU team Florida Elite.
On that squad he's played alongside Kasey Hill, a 6 foot guard out of Eustis Florida, ranked among the elite guards in the nation.
Hill also a U-F commit and those two now have Florida ranked as the number one recruiting class for 2013. Florida seniors can sign binding offers in the early signing period which begins November 14th.
Walker choosing the Gators over Louisville, Kansas, Syracuse, and Kentucky, even though the 'Cats never made an official offer.
He averaged nearly a triple double in terms of points, rebounds and blocks this past season, and should put up huge stats again this season. Scouts believe he has some maturing to do, but defensively, he is already one of the better shot blockers in high school ball, and he can rebound and run as well.
Chris certainly not lacking in the confidence department, saying in a recorded announcement on a basketball website quote "I will be teaming up with Kasey Hill, and together we will be the best duo in college and we will win a national championship." unquote.
