Gainesville, FL--To college football now and believe it or not the Gators will put the wraps on Spring ball a week from Saturday. Because first year coach Will Muschamp has closed practices to fans and the media alike, we haven't seen much video come out of the workouts in Gainesville, this is stuff from day one. It's hard to note objectively the progress of the players under the new staff, though word is John Brantley seems to be shining under new Offensive Coordinator Charlie Weiss, and there's another player Muschamp's been impressed with.

Will Muschamp
Florida Head Coach

"Well I'd say at running back Chris Rainey's really had a good Spring. He's a guy that makes an awful lot of plays. And getting the ball deeper to him in the backfield helps him. He's got great vision and cutback ability and bounce ability, you've got to be really gap sound on him in the run game."

Muschamp not yet committing to calling Brantley his starting quarterback, but says he's leaning that way. Florida's Orange and Blue game noon eastern next Saturday.
