Tuscaloosa, AL--Less than two weeks into fall practice and recent Arnold graduate Eddie Williams is making some news with the Crimson Tide.

Eddie began practice up there as a receiver, and by all accounts was impressing the coaches in that position.

On Friday though, following a season ending injury to defensive back Jarrick Williams, the decision was made to move Eddie over to the defense, first to corner, and then to the safety spot.

That's one of the positions he played at Arnold. In fact he was rated as one of the nation's premier high school safeties last year by all the scouting websites.

So now he's wearing a red number 15 and working out with the defensive backs.

When asked to evaluate Williams Coach Saban telling reporters after practice over the weekend "It's really not fair to make any kind of evaluation because he doesn't even know how to do this stuff. We're telling him what to do, but we haven't really taught him how to do it or why it's important to do it that way. One thing he showed at receiver, he's big, very physical. Hopefully, he'll be able to add some range."

Alabama practicing twice today, once Tuesday and twice Wednesday, so that gives Williams plenty of chances to learn more quickly in regards to playing safety in that defense.
