Freeport, FL---With Veteran's Day approaching it's worth pointing out a golf fundraiser set for next Saturday, November 3rd at Windswept Dunes in Freeport. The man helping to organize that tournament is Randall Cooke. He explains the reason for this event.

"November 3rd we're having a golf outing for a fallen soldier, Marine Joseph D'Augustine, killed in action on his fourth tour, two in Iraq, two in Afghanistan. Joe, when he moved down here, came down here looking for a place to stay, so he rented a room from my daughter who lives off of 20. So he went to EOD school in Niceville. Finished in the top of his class, did a great job. You wonder how many lives this kid saved by diffusing three and four bombs a day."

Staff Sgt. Joseph D'Augustine was 29 when killed by an IED in Afghanistan in March. The video attached is of his funeral in New Jersey back in March.

The money raised with next week's golf tournament will benefit spouses of fallen soldiers and help to start a scholarship fund in D'Augustine's name.

Contact Windswept Dunes for details on that tournament. For those wishing to contribute directly to the memorial fund set up in D'Augustine's name can mail it to the address below:
