Orlando, FL (AP) -- Some of college football's top awards have been doled out on Thursday, two days before the Heisman Trophy presentation.

Florida State quarterback Jameis (JAYM'-ihs) Winston has been selected as the Walter Camp player of the year and the recipient of the Davey O'Brien Award as the nation's top quarterback. The redshirt freshman has set FBS freshman records for yards passing (3,820) and touchdown passes (38), leading the top-ranked Seminoles to a 13-0 record and a berth in the BCS championship game against No. 2 Auburn. His 190.6 passer efficiency rating is tops in the country and on pace to set an NCAA record.

Fellow Heisman finalist Andre Williams of Boston College has won the Doak Walker Award, given to the nation's top running back. The Heisman Trophy finalist became the first running back at the Football Bowl Subdivision level since 2008 to rush for 2,000 yards. He finished with 2,102 yards and 17 touchdowns to help the Eagles to seven wins and a bowl berth this season.

Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron has won the Maxwell Award, given to college football's player of the year.

Oregon State junior Brandin Cooks has won the Biletnikoff (bih-LET'-nih-kahf) Award as the nation's most outstanding wide receiver. Cooks had 120 receptions for 1,670 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Pittsburgh defensive tackle Aaron Donald has won the Outland Trophy, given to the nation's top interior lineman. Donald has also come away with the Chuck Bednarik Award for the outstanding collegiate defensive player.

Michigan State cornerback Darqueze Dennard has been recognized as the nation's best defensive back by receiving the Jim Thorpe Award.

Florida State freshman Roberto Aguayo has won the Lou Groza (GROH'-zah) Award as the nation's best place kicker.
